The World Bank FEU Urban Anchor and Solid Waste Management Thematic Group are pleased to invite you this workshop, which has been prepared and will be delivered by the health care waste management consultants of SADAT Associates, (they have worked previously under Allan Rotman, in his QAG "1" rated project on health care wastes for the Middle East & N. Africa Region).

This workshop will address the following issues:

- Overview of Health Care Waste Management
- Roles & Responsibilities
- Technical Guidelines, Characteristics, Regulations
- Collection, Segregation, Transport, Treatment and Disposal Methods
- Handling, Sanitary Protection Sanitary & Safety Measures (for medical staff and individuals in contact with medical waste)
- Public Awareness
- Rapid Assessment
- WHO Costing Tool
